edb at the Canadian Pavilion in Osaka

The World Expo 2025 opened its doors last month. Held in Osaka, Japan, from April 13 to October 13 2025, the event’s theme is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” with 150 participating countries.

The concept of the Canada Pavilion is “Regeneration”. It is inspired by the thawing of frozen waterways at the onset of spring. The pavilion’s exterior architecture represents a natural phenomenon seen in Canada called an “ice jam” when ice on the surface of a river melts and flows, creating intriguing ephemeral ice formations. In contrast to the icy exterior, the interior will express Canada’s warmth, openness and optimism. Visitors will discover and experience Canada’s innovation, diversity, and creativity, as well as its commitment to sustainability.

edb furniture was selected to be a part of the delegation of products brought to Japan for the Expo. A small and modest presence but still warmly welcomed. A Pivot table sits at the entrance of the reception desk in the back office.

The world expo lasts until October 2025.
